This was based on an idea that had been drifting around in my head for a while, namely of an abstract pyramid of sorts floating over an ocean somewhere. The idea was partially inspired by the DarkBASIC logo and the cover artwork for the album "Fourth Dimension" by the band Stratovarius.

This piece was originally going to be set during the day, but I decided to have it set at night instead in order to provide better contrast with the glowing of the pyramid. There weren't originally going to be any islands in the background, but I ultimately decided to add them in order to provide a better sense of depth and perspective.
