Old Updates

SlackBuild Update, Donations and Poems November 9th, 2024
There are three parts to this update! The first is just a minor update to acknowledge that I have submitted an update to the xfs_undelete SlackBuild over on SlackBuilds.org. The second is that I have removed the Donations section from the About page, as I am not currently accepting them at the moment. The third is that I have posted several new poems to the Story section! They aren't much, but feel free to give them a quick read.

New SlackBuild July 13th, 2024
It's been a while since the last update, hasn't it? In any case, today's update is just a quick one; I have submitted a new SlackBuild to SlackBuilds.org for xfs_undelete, which is a file recovery program for the XFS filesystem. I have also updated the sm64ex SlackBuild on here to the latest version as well.

TestDisk SlackBuild April 27th, 2024
Another quick update today, this time to announce that I have now taken over maintenance of the SlackBuild script for TestDisk over on SlackBuilds.org (TestDisk is a Free Software tool that is used to help in recovering data and lost files). I have also submitted another update for the XMRig SlackBuild as well.

Lightspark SlackBuild March 23rd, 2024
Just a quick update today to announce that I have now taken over maintenance of the SlackBuild script for Lightspark over on SlackBuilds.org (Lightspark is a Flash player that targets both Windows and GNU/Linux). I have also submitted an update for the XMRig SlackBuild as well. Anyway, that's all for now.

Leap Year Update February 29th, 2024
Today's update is a rather major one! I've added a new program that I wrote recently (called "Betcha!") to the Software section. It's a simple ball-in-a-cup guessing game (primarily intended for GNU/Linux) that runs on the command line and can be compiled from source code. Head on over and check it out!

New Year, New Update January 1st, 2024
Happy New Year, everyone! Today's update is a huge one, spanning the entire website! In addition to various backend updates across the board, I've revamped and cleaned up the CSS and HTML across the site in order to make it W3C-compatible, which should help with performance and accessibility. I've also made some updates to the error pages, updated the website's logo and the favicon, moved all of the old update posts to a separate update archive page, made some minor adjustments to various pages in the various sections (including the "About" page), and basically just given the whole website something of a total refresh. Hopefully, this should make browsing the site a more pleasant experience going forward (although given the scale of the update, you may want to re-check any bookmarks you've made in the past and see if they need updating).

Christmas Update December 23rd, 2023
Just another quick update to bump up the sm64ex SlackBuild to the latest version once more, as well as to acknowledge the minor SlackBuild updates I made last week to xmrig and zxing-cpp. This will likely be the last update to the site this year, so for now...Merry Christmas, and see you next year!

Another Small Update December 3rd, 2023
Just a quick update today to bump up the source of the sm64ex SlackBuild to the latest version, along with re-working a few minor backend things here and there.

SlackBuilds and Donations November 18th, 2023
Today's update is a smaller one, mostly covering my recent submissions to SlackBuilds.org. In addition to updating "superlu" and "zxing-cpp", I've also submitted a SlackBuild for "opentoonz" (the OpenToonz 2D animation software) as well. I've also added a donations section to the "About" page of my website, in case anyone wants to help support the upkeep of the site.

Small SlackBuild Update November 11th, 2023
Just a small update today to the sm64ex SlackBuild (bumping the source up to the latest version), along with a few updates to some of the SlackBuilds I maintain over on SlackBuilds.org (namely feather and badwolf). I've also added a new SBo SlackBuild (zxing-cpp) as well, as feather now requires it as a dependency as of the latest version. It should also be noted that feather will now require qt6 as a hard dependency in order to compile and run from now on, so please keep that in mind.

Something Old, Something New August 1st, 2023
Today's update is a big one! I've decided to remove the "Old Stuff" section from the website and move all of the content on that page into other sections. All of the animation-related content has been merged into the Animation section, while all of the story-related content has been moved into the brand-new Story section! I've also re-encoded the videos in the animation section to improve their quality and filesize, cleaned up some of the other sections (such as the Miscellaneous section) and revamped the way the pages are organised on the site as a whole. Much like the last time I did something like this, you might want to check any pages you've bookmarked in the past to make sure that the links to those pages still work.

sm64ex SlackBuild Update July 19th, 2023
Just a small update today. I've updated the sm64ex build script in the SlackBuilds section, adding the option to compile packages using different versions of the ROM (like you can when building manually). This means that you can now build sm64ex Slackware packages for the Japanese and European versions of the game as well, although it should be noted that builds using the European ROM are a bit buggy (which is an upstream issue rather than a build script issue).

Software Section and SlackBuilds July 11th, 2023
Damn, has it really been a year since the last update? Sorry about that, life has had quite a few ups and downs lately; I'll try to keep things updated more frequently in the future. In any case, today's update is a rather major one: I've revamped the Software section and added a variety of SlackBuilds (unofficial shell scripts for building software packages for Slackware, a GNU/Linux distribution) to it (although many of them are just links to pages for those SlackBuilds on SlackBuilds.org), along with moving my existing "ASCII Test Game" to its own page. I've also cleaned up the layout of the updates on the website's front page to improve their legibility.

Backend Update July 11th, 2022
Apologies for the lack of updates, life has been rather hectic recently. In the meantime, however, I've gone and done some major backend updates, including re-organising how some of the folders, files and URLS are laid out. In light of this, if there are any pages you have bookmarked previously, you might want to go back and check to see if the addresses for said pages have changed; if they have, please update your bookmarks to the new addresses accordingly.

3DCG Renders February 7th, 2022
A substantial update, at last! Today I've finally added an update to the Miscellaneous section; specifically, a small sub-section containing some 3DCG renders that I've created over the past few weeks using the 3D modelling and animation software Blender. There are four renders in all, and each one is available to use under a Creative Commons CC-BY-NC-SA license. Head on over and take a look!

Quick Update January 10th, 2022
Just a quick update today, mainly a few behind-the-scenes changes here and there; however, I have also updated some of the short stories in the Old Stuff section to have nicer formatting, hopefully improving their readability.

Minor Updates and ASCII Test Game April 11th, 2021
Just a small update, mainly a few back-end changes here and there. Notably, however, I have updated the download for my ASCII Test Game in the Software section, as I had accidentally made the grave error of forgetting to attribute the creator of a third-party library that I had used in the creation of the program. I have since rectified this mistake, along with adding a detailed README file to the zip folder. If you have already downloaded the old version of my ASCII Test Game program that lacks the README file and attribution, I strongly recommend you replace that version with the new one as soon as possible.
